  • Carrie

    Instructor

    Carrie’s Pilates journey began over 10 years ago, when she was searching for a new method of exercise incorporating health to both mind and body. She found exactly what she was looking for in Pilates. Carrie is certified in Core Dynamics Pilates to teach through the advanced level in Mat Pilates and five pieces of Apparatus including Reformer, Chair, Cadillac/Trap Table, Ladder Barrel, and Spine Corrector. Carrie incorporates the six concepts of Pilates: breath, control, concentration, centering, precision, and flow into all of her lessons. Her philosophy is the belief that anyone can gain full benefits from Pilates despite fitness level, age, or limited mobility. Carrie teaches with passion, patience, and excitement in all of her classes. She has taught Pilates for over 10 years to people of all ages and fitness levels, including children, athletes, and dancers. She recently relocated to Michigan from the Chicagoland area to return to her Michigan roots after being out of state for several years. Carrie holds a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Master of Arts degree. She has been a college professor for over 14 years and continues to dedicate her time as an educator. In her free time, Carrie enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and exploring the beautiful outdoors. She truly hopes Pilates can bring to you the same joy, strength, flexibility, and overall health Pilates has brought into her life.

  • Laressa

    Lead Instructor

    Laressa was born and raised in Flint, MI, but is now a resident of Oak Park, MI. She has been a Certified Pilates Instructor through STOTT since 2012. Her goals are to help people understand how their individual bodies work, and to teach them how to stay strong and healthy. She enjoys working with all body types and ages, and prides herself in being able to modify exercises to each individual. She is a very detailed instructor, and likes to focus on how well her clients do the exercises by correcting their form, rather than just giving a generic workout. Along with teaching Pilates, Laressa is also a professional dancer. She started her training under Dan Durkacy at the Flint Dance Center, and continued her training under Karen Mills-Jennings at the Flint School of Performing Arts. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dance Degree (Cum Luade) from Wayne State University in 2011. She currently dances for Big Red Wall Dance Company (Artistic Director, Erika “Red” Stowall), based in Detroit, MI.

    Instructor

    Lynn received her certification to become a Pilates instructor in 2011. She has also been a therapeutic massage therapist for over 11 years and she incorporates her background of health and fitness into designing workouts that focus on strengthening the core as it relates to body alignment and injury prevention. She is convinced that Pilates is the key to maintaining strength, balance, and grace. She also loves running, boxing and bad reality t.v.!

    Instructor

    Michelle is a Classical Pilates instructor who has been living in Los Angeles for the past 16 years. She moved to the Detroit area in May 2017. She has been teaching Pilates for 6 years. Michelle's strength is in teaching group classes and working with clients who have injuries, post natal issues, reversing posture patterns, and improving overall wellness. Michelle's certification was through Whole Body Method Pilates Studio, located in West Hollywood. Whole Body Method is a Classical Pilates Certification Program with a holistic approach to training and teaching. She has experience teaching more Contemporary Pilates, however, her passion, continued education and true belief is in the Classical - Authentic System. In addition, she has trained with Yamuna Body Rolling out of New York. She has a strong background in myofascial - release and body sustainability. Michelle believes moving your body is the most healing experience you can give yourself.

    Instructor

    Sue's love for Pilates started over 20 years ago, taking mat classes, at her local gym. Sue became more serious about becoming an instructor after having foot surgery, she began taking reformer classes as part of her rehabilitation program. During that time she started training and became a certified Pilates instructor through STOTT. Sue has completed certification in Total Barre, and specialized training in Injuries and Special populations. Sue is also a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, working with older adults, her passion is helping her clients become strong, incorporating functional training, and Pilates into her treatment sessions. Sue has taken numerous continuing education over the years, and strives to learn more to help her clients meet their goals.

  • Karissa

    Instructor

    Karissa, a Michigan native and fitness enthusiast, discovered her love for Pilates in 2013. After trying Pilates at various studios in the Metro Detroit area, she started practicing at the Club Pilates Novi location – the first Club Pilates studio in Michigan – and fell in love! A graduate from the University of Michigan, Karissa worked in a corporate environment for over 14 years and decided to follow her passion, transitioning to instructing full time. She holds a 500-hour comprehensive Club Pilates certification in mat, reformer, springboard, reformer trapeze combination (RTC/cadillac), chair, ladder barrel and spine corrector. Karissa brings her love of Pilates and group fitness, along with a tremendous amount of energy and passion, to her classes. When she’s not instructing, Karissa enjoys running, attending live music events and traveling.
